Maintenance and adjustment
80
Tractors with 9.00-16 and 10.00-16
tyres tighten to: 126 Nm (93 lbf ft)
Front - four wheel drive:
Disc to axle hub - 270 Nm (200 lbf ft).
Rim to disc - 190 Nm (140 lbf ft).
Rear - pressed centre wheel:
Disc to Axle Hub - 325 Nm (240 lbf ft)
Rim to Disc - 240 Nm (177 lbf ft)
Caution
Recheck the torques after 10 hours
(or 2 hours if on loader work) and then
recheck and if necessary, retighten
twice more at ten hourly intervals. This
protects against the loosening that oc-
curs from the wheel settling down.
Wheel weights (Figs. 50 to 52)
Wheel weights are available for the
front and rear wheels, consult with ITMCO
Dealer for the correct weights for your
tractor.
Front wheel weights (Figs. 50 and
51)
Front wheel weights can be bolted to
either or both sides of the wheel and are
known as inner (Fig. 50) and outer (Fig.
51) weights, both of approximately 33 kg
(73 Ib) each. Tighten the retaining bolts to
a torque of 80 Nm (60 lbf ft).

Fig. 51:
Rear wheel weights (Fig. 52)
Rear wheel weights are bolted to the
outside of the wheel. Additional weights
can be bolted to the first adaptor weight.
Each weight weighs approximately 45 kg
(100 Ib).
When fitting the first adaptor weight,
ensure that the cut-out in the weight
aligns with the tyre valve for accessibility.
Tighten the weight bolts to a torque of
80 Nm (60 lbf ft).
Caution
Only sufficient weight should be add-
ed to provide traction and stability. Add-
ing more weight, than necessary results
in unnecessary loads being imposed on
the tractor and a higher fuel consumption.
* Ensure that an equal amount of
weights are fitted to each side of
the tractor.
* When adding weight, adhere to the
maximum tyre capacity loading.
The tyre pressures will have to be
increased to accommodate the ad-
ditional weight. Consult with ITMCo.
