air, comes from the fuel pipe connec-
tion. Tighten the thermostart fuel pipe
nut.

Note: If the drive cam of the fuel lift
pump is at the point of maximum lift, it
will not be possible to operate the prim-
ing lever. In this situation, the crank-
shaft must be turned one revolution.

3. Loosen the vent plug(s) (1 and 2 Fig.
26) on the fuel injection pump and op-
erate the priming lever of the lift pump
until fuel, free from air, comes from
the vent sorew(s). Tighten the vent
screw(s).
4. Loosen the fuel injector pipe connec-
tions (Fig. 27) and crank the engine,
with the stop control in and the throt-
tle wide open, until fuel free from air
is discharged from the connections.
Stop cranking and tighten the connec-
tions.

5. The engine is now ready to start.

isers every 1000 hours
