Foot throttle
Warning
For road work, close the hand throttle
and only use the foot throttle.
Operation of the foot throttle overrides
the hand throttle setting when increas-
ing engine speed. When the foot throttle
is released, the engine will return to the
speed set by the hand throttle. When using
the foot throttle, the hand throttle must be
fully closed.
Selecting correct gear
Select the gear which will give the best
fuel consumption without overloading the
engine or transmission. Also remember
that ground conditions in the same field
may vary almost every few yards, there-
fore, select the gear in which the engine
will operate satisfactorily at just three-
quarters maximum power.
Important notes:
1. Do not rest your foot on the clutch ped-
al or ride the clutch pedal.
2. Do not move the dual range selector
lever when the tractor is moving.
3. Never coast down slopes with the trac-
tor in gear and the clutch disengaged.
Towing
Caution
When the engine is stopped, hydrau-
lic power assistance to the steering does
not operate. The tractor can be steered
manually. In this situation the tractor
must be moved slowly with caution, do
not exceed 3 km/hr (2 mile/hr).
* The ITM tractor must have a bat-
tery connected to operate the
fuel shut-off solenoid.
Before towing the tractor, move the PTO
lever, and all gear levers into neutral. The
towing speed must not exceed 3 km/hr (2
mile/hr).
Towing to start the engine
1. Move the PTO lever to neutral.
2. Place the dual range selector lever in
the high range.
3. Place the synchro 12 lever in high range.
4. Select third gear.
5. Turn the starter switch key to the aux-
iliary position.
6. Do not exceed 3 km/hr (2 mile/hr).
7. Release the clutch pedal slowly.
Driving in deep water
If the tractor is driven in water at a
depth greater than 600 mm (24 in) cor-
rosion damage can occur to major com-
ponents. See ITMCO Dealer for special
water-proofing instructions, otherwise the
Warranty may be invalidated.
