A.1.3 PGND Cable
This section describes the structure and specifications of the protection ground (PGND) cable
for grounding the USG9500. Read this section before you make or purchase any PGND
cables for the USG9500.
The PGND cable is used in the following situations:
l
The USG9500 is installed inside the cabinet.
If the cabinet has been properly grounded, connect one end of the PGND cable to the
ground terminal of the USG9500 and the other end to the ground port of the cabinet.
l
The USG9500 is installed outside the cabinet.
Connect one end of the PGND cable to the ground terminal of the USG9500 and the
other end to the ground bar in the equipment room.
NOTICE
Unreliable grounding may damage the USG9500. Therefore, ensure that the USG9500 is
reliably grounded.
Structure and Appearance
A PGND cable has two OT bare crimp terminals and a copper cable with yellow/green plastic
encapsulation.
