When flowing to the right, the air joins the air from the upper chassis. Two lower SFU slots in
the area also draw in air from the left. When flowing to the right, the air joins the air from the
lower chassis.

1.1.5.2 Fan Module

This section describes the appearance, technical specifications, and speed adjustment of fans.

Appearance and Technical Specifications of Fan Modules

The four fan modules of the USG9580 are located side by side next with the air exhaust vents
and work in 2+2 backup mode. Each fan module is equipped with one fan. When one fan
fails, the heat dissipation system can still allow the device to continue operating at the
ambient temperature of 40°C for a short time. The fan modules are hot-swappable.

NOTE

The heat dissipation system allows the device to operate at the ambient temperature for a short time as
long as, at the time of failure, the system has not been operating continuously for more than 96 hours
and the accumulated operation time of the system per year does not exceed 15 days.
