Follow-up Procedure

After replacing the MPU/SRU, collect all tools. If the replaced MPU/SRU is faulty, fill in the

Repair Transmission Sheet

and send the faulty module with the Repair Transmission Sheet

to the equipment supplier or the specified repair service provider.

3.1.2 Replacing an SFU

This section describes the precaution and procedure for replacing an SFU.

Context

When replacing a Switch Fabric Unit (SFU), note the following:

l

The USG9560 has three SFUs. Only one SFU can be replaced independently.

l

The USG9580 has four SFUs. All four SFUs can be replaced independently. However,
when the device is running, only one SFU can be replaced at a time. To replace multiple
SFUs, first replace one SFU, wait to confirm that the new SFU works normally, and then
replace the rest one by one.

NOTE

The USG9520 does not have an independent SFU.
