1.4.4 SPUs and SPCs

SPUs are responsible for security service processing.

1.4.4.1 X3 SPU (SPU-X3-B)

The SPU-X3-B is a motherboard used in the USG9520. By default, it does not have any
service processing capability and must be used together with subcards. The board has two
slots, and each slot can house a firewall SPC or an application security SPC.

The SPU-X3-B goes into the LPU/SPU slot of the USG9520.

The board is hot-swappable.
