The mailslot screen displays, along with the message, “The media, [media name], was successfully
loaded.” Also, the media that has been restored is no longer in the mailslot.

From the
System
tab, under
Virtual Libraries
, verify that the tape is created.
NOTE:
Using
Load Media for Restore
will create a virtual tape that is exactly equal in size to the physical
tape, despite the established sizing factor.
Restoring from a LAN/WAN Virtual Cartridge
1.
Select the
Automigration/Replication
tab.
2.
Under
Destination Libraries
in the navigation pane, expand the library you want to restore.
3.
From the navigation pane, select
Slots
.
4.
On the task bar, select
Restore Media
.
5.
Select the slot number or Copy Pool you wish to restore.
NOTE:
You can only restore one slot at a time.
6.
Select
Submit
.
The
Restore Media
screen refreshes with a message that indicates the restore was successful.
Loading Blank Media into an Echo Copy Pool
To move a blank tape (or a tape that should be considered blank) from a mailslot on a destination
library into an echo copy pool, use
Load Blank Media
:
CAUTION:
Any tape moved into an echo copy pool in this way will be considered blank, even if it contains data.
1.
From Command View VLS, select the
Automigration/Replication
tab.
2.
In the navigation pane under the appropriate destination library, select
MailSlot
to display the
list of mailslots on that library.
3.
From the task bar, select
Load Blank Media
.
4.
From the
LOAD BLANK MEDIA
screen, select the source slot.
5.
Select
Next
.
6.
Select the destination slot.
7.
Select
Next
to display the specifics of the media to be loaded as a blank tape.
