Configuring Ethernet Settings
CLI: Configuring IP Settings Statically or via DHCP
CLI Commands Used in This Section
The following example shows how to enable the DHCP client and automati-
cally set the IP address for the DHCP client using the
interface
and
ip
address
commands.

To ensure the access point doesn’t overwrite the static IP address, you must
first disable the DHCP client with the
no ip address dhcp
command.
The following example shows how to disable the DHCP client and then specify
an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server addresses.
C a u t i o n
In order to disable the DHCP and assign a Static IP address, you must have a
serial port connection to the access point. Otherwise, you will lose connec-
tivity during the process of assigning a new static IP address.
