Safety Symbols
The general denitions of safety sym b ols used on equipmen t or in man uals are listed b elow.
Instruction man ual sym b ol: the pro duct will b e marked with this sym b ol
when it is necessary for the user to refer to the instruction man ual in order
to protect against damage to the instrumen t.
Indicates dangerous v oltage (terminals fed from the in terior b y v oltage
exceeding 1000 v olts m ust b e so marked).
Protectiv e conductor terminal. F or protection against electrical sho c k in
case of a fault. Used with eld wiring terminals to indicate the terminal
whic h m ust b e connected to ground b efore op erating equipmen t.
F rame or c hassis terminal. A connection to the frame (c hassis) of the
equipmen t whic h normally includes all exp osed metal structures.
Alternating curren t.
Direct curren t.
ON (Supply).
OFF (Supply).
ST ANDBY (Supply).
The w arning sign denotes a hazard. It calls attention to a pro cedure,
practice, condition or the like, whic h, if not correctly p erformed or adhered

The caution sign denotes a hazard. It calls attention to an op erating
pro cedure, practice, condition or the like, whic h, if not correctly p erformed

pro duct.
The note sign denotes imp ortant information. It calls attention to a
pro cedure, practice, condition or the like, whic h is essen tial to highlight.
