GR OUND THE INSTRUMENT
T o minimize sho c k hazard, the instrumen t c hassis and cabinet m ust b e connected to
an electrical ground. The p o w er terminal and the p o w er cable m ust meet In ternational
Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standards.
DO NOT OPERA TE IN AN EXPLOSIVE A TMOSPHERE
Do not op erate the instrumen t in the presence of ammable gases or fumes. Op eration of an y
electrical instrumen t in suc h an en vironmen t constitutes a denite safety hazard.
KEEP A W A Y FR OM LIVE CIRCUITS
Op eration p ersonnel m ust not remov e instrumen t co v ers. Comp onen t replacemen t and
in ternal adjustmen ts m ust b e made b y qualied maintenance p ersonnel. Do not replace
comp onen ts with p o w er cable connected. Under certain conditions, dangerous v oltages may
exist ev en with the p o w er cable remov ed. T o a v oid injuries, alwa ys disconnect p o w er and
disc harge circuits b efore touc hing them.
DO NOT SER VICE OR ADJUST ALONE
Do not attempt in ternal service or adjustmen t unless another p erson, capable of rendering
rst aid and resuscitation, is presen t.
DO NOT SUBSTITUTE P AR TS OR MODIFY INSTRUMENT
Because of the danger of in tro ducing additional hazards, do not install substitute parts
or p erform an y unauthorized mo dication to the instrumen t. Return the instrumen t to a
Hewlett-Pac k ard Sales and Service Oce for services and repair to ensure that safety features
are maintained.
