• Means that it is possible to cause harm to one

self or to others.
PRECAUTION

Means that it is possible to damage the equipment,
or other equipment nearby.
NOTE
• Specifies the points of particular interest that must
be taken into account for proper application.
WARNING
• Specialized personnel must keep a constant care when the
ventilator is connected to a patient. Some situations requi
-
re immediate corrective care. The alarm system itself is not
meant to be a solution for an adverse condition, it is only in
-
tended to warn of its existence.
• The instructions concerning the implementation and regula
-
tions of the controls mentioned herein are to be used for gui
-
dance. Professionals in charge of operating this mechanical
equipment must use their knowledge and judgment to adapt it
to the needs of the patient.
• The iTernIS ADV ventilator is a life support device. It is manda
-
tory to perform clinical surveillance on the patient, frequently
and properly. It is also mandatory to be prepared to provide an
alternative way of ventilation.
• iTernIS ADV is not intended to function as a support for anes
-
thetic machines. The use of the ventilator in anesthesia admi
-
nistration procedures is not considered as an intended use
indication.
• Do not use the ventilator in the presence of flammable anes
-
thetic gases. This can cause an accident by explosion or fire.
• ALWAYS use a water filter for compressed air at the AIR inlet
of the device. The use of this type of filters is necessary regar
-
dless of the type of compressed air source used.
• Antistatic and electrically conductive hoses shall not be used,
neither in the ventilator pneumatic supply nor in the patient
circuit.
• Operation with internal battery has a limited time. In the event
of a dead battery, immediately replace the main power or
switch to an alternative method of ventilation.
• To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must be con
-
nected to an earthed power source. Neither remove the third
pin (earth) of the plug power cord, nor use a two-pin adapter.
