4. Install the drive.
5. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions.
6. Close the front bezel.

CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure:

Make sure that the SFF hot-plug drive cage is installed.
• Make sure that the SFF hot-plug drive option is available.
• If you are installing SFF SAS drives with 10K or 15K rpm rate,
make sure that the fan cage is installed.
