10.5 WASHING EMPTY CONTAINERS AND
PRE-MIXER TANK
For correct washing of the plant protection product pack-
age proceed as follows:
• Open the pre-mixer lid (4).
Open the cock (1) feeding it with a pressure not exceeding 8 bar.
• Place the empty container in the washing device until
it rests on the support beam (5), then push the con-
tainer downwards. This operation allows the liquid inlet
valve to activate and start washing the containers. Af-
ter 30 seconds, check the cleanliness of the container
and proceed with a new washing cycle if required.
• Once the container is released, the liquid inlet valve closes
automatically. The container washing nozzle rotates to facili
-
tate washing the containers reaching the most difficult points.
• Bring the liquid in the tank by opening the gate valve (2).
• If the washing device is not supplied with clean water, an additional rinsing operation with clean water is mandatory.
This must be done manually at least three times, in order to clean the container correctly.
ATTENTION
Rinsing liquids must be poured in the main tank.
After the operations have ended close the gate valve (2), then close the cock (1).
Re-enter the premixer in the housing by locking the latch (6).
ATTENTION
Using cocks on the pump or at the front of the machine places the operator near the PTO shaft. Despite the
presence of CE compliant guards, it is required to turn off the tractor’s engine and remove the key from igni-
tion.
10.6 INTERNAL WASHING
The concentration of the plant protection product inside the tank at the end of washing must be reduced to a minimum.
Tests have shown the need of rinsing the inside of the tank at least 2/3 times (though with smaller amounts of water).
10.7 MACHINE EXTERNAL WASHING
• Due to sudden gusts of wind, turns in headlands, intake of the atomised product by the fan, some parts of the ma-
chine might be soiled with the plant protection product.
• During external washing operations, it is mandatory to wear all the required PPE: acid resistant rubber gloves, puri-
fying goggles/facemasks or helmets, overalls made of water-repellent fabrics or TYVEK, rubber boots or similar.
•
It is recommended to discharge the plant protection product directly in the field as soon as possible, using a few
litres of water and changing position in the field if repeated subsequently.
•
Otherwise perform the washing in a specific waterproof area of the company, suitable to collect wastewater.
• Do not allow water sprays to reach control instruments.
• Clean the steps or footboards daily; they are continuously covered with earth, grass, oil etc. and become extremely
slippery causing dangerous situations even when wearing accident prevention shoes.
• Clean the machine with a moderate pressure washer, taking care not to get electric parts, sensors etc. wet to avoid
any failures.
• Clean the instruments with a soft cloth and a detergent solution.
ATTENTION
Do not use solvents such as petrol or alcohol, thinners, acids, etc.
