12.0 MAINTENANCE
Before performing maintenance or inspection work, en-
sure the atomiser is uncoupled from the tractor.
These operations must be performed by a mechanical or
electrical maintenance technician as the case may be.
Every maintenance operation must be performed by
skilled personnel in strict compliance with the require-
ments of this manual.
Before performing any maintenance operation imple-
ment all possible precautions. When required, to perform
maintenance safely, use ladders or appropriate access
and work equipment (e.g. fixed or rolling platforms). Apply
a sign on the machine that specifies its particular situa
-
tion: Machine out of order for maintenance: it is forbidden
to come close.
Before performing any maintenance or check always
clean the work area and use appropriate tools in good
state of repair.
The frequency of operations is indicated below and con-
cerns normal conditions of use, therefore if the machine is
subject to heavy duty operating conditions, this frequency
must be appropriately reduced.
Clean the surfaces of the atomiser, panels and controls
with soft and dry cloths or slightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent such as
alcohol or benzene, as it might damage the surfaces and
decals.
At the end of maintenance ascertain the integrity and
perfect operability of all safety devices.
Do not use acids for cleaning the atomiser, as they may
cause severe damage.
12.1 LUBRICANTS: GENERAL GUIDELINES
FOR THEIR CORRECT USE.
ATTENTION
It is extremely important to read these instructions
with special care. Special care must be paid to the
safety data sheets that the products are supplied with
as a rule.
Make sure all personnel in charge of lubricants are
aware of their contents and provide them with the
stated PPE.
12.1.1 HYGIENE
• The lubricants used by the Manufacturer are not
harmful for health if they are used in the suitable way
for the intended case.
• However, excessive and prolonged contact with the
skin may remove the skin's natural grease and cause
de-hydration and irritation.
• Low viscosity oils in particular produce these effects;
therefore pay special attention when handling used oil
which might be diluted due to contact with fuel.
• Every time oils must be handled, it is required to com-
ply with good practice in personal care and hygiene
and the premises.
• For the details related to these precautions, read
the relevant publications issued by the local health
authority.
