User-defined character transmission (UUS1)

Note

This function is only possible for system telephones and ISDN telephones for the ISDN
connection.

You can send text messages from one ISDN terminal to another without having to call this
subscriber. No additional connection costs are incurred when these messages are trans-
mitted. With system telephones, you can also use this function internally.

After transmission, the text messages are displayed on the terminal's display. Depending
on the ISDN terminal, this can be predefined text messages or messages created by the
user. You can only use this performance feature externally if it is supported by the ISDN
terminals. For information on operation, please see the user's guide for your ISDN termin-
als.

You can only send text messages if the UUS1 (User to User Signalling 1) performance fea-
ture is activated for your connection. You can obtain information on this from your network
operator.

Protection of the data connection

You are currently sending data with your fax machine. The Call waiting feature is set up
on the connection for your fax machine. If you receive another fax at the same time, trans-
fer is disrupted or interrupted by the call waiting tone.

To ensure that data is always correctly transferred, Call waiting is suppressed for the ana-
log connection of the fax machine so as to avoid any interference with the fax carrier.

In the configuration, you can set certain terminal types for the analogue connections. As
soon as you set up a connection type other than
