Memory Modules

This section describes the memory modules.

4.4.1

Overview of memory modules

l

The memory module configuration uses synchronous dynamic random access

memory (SDRAM).

l

Memory modules employ error checking and correction (ECC).

l

Upgrades of memory modules must be done in sets of four.  All memory modules

mounted on a system board must be of the same type.

For memory module expansion, contact a certified service engineer.

Note:

The riser card is an adapter card that is used to efficiently mount memory

modules onto the system board.
