DIAGNOSTIC TABLE
PROBLEM: the engine does not start
1. Repeat the "Engine starting" steps described in this Manual.
2. Electric Start-up Models: Clean the battery terminals. Tighten the
cables.
3. Empty the fuel tank. Clean the fuel hose. Replace the fuel filter.
4. Unplug. Place the accelerator on SLOW position. Turn on the
ignition. Try to start the engine several times. Plug in.
5. Replace the spark plug.
6. Adjust the carburettor.
PROBLEM: the engine is not running
1. Repeat the "Engine starting" steps described in this Manual.
2. Electric Start-up Models: Check the battery acid level. Add water if
needed. Charge the battery.
3. Replace the fuse.
4. Check that the electrical circuit is not damaged or improperly
connected. Replace the damaged wire.
5. Electric Start-up Models: replace the coil. Models with Reverse
Start-up: replace the module.
PROBLEM: the engine has difficulty starting up
1. Adjust the carburettor.
2. Replace the spark plug.
3. Replace the fuel filter.
PROBLEM: the engine does not run smoothly or suffers a loss of
power
1. Check the oil.
2. Clean the air filter.
3. Clean the grid.
4. Replace the spark plug.
5. The engine is running too hard. Shift to a lower gear.
6. Adjust the carburettor.
7. Replace the fuel filter.
PROBLEM: the engine does not run regularly at full capacity
1. Replace the spark plug.
2. Adjust the accelerator control.
3. Clean the air filter.
4. Replace the fuel filter.
PROBLEM: the engine stops when the blades are engaged
1. In order to activate the seat sensor, always sit in the middle of the
seat.
2. Check that the electrical circuit is not damaged or improperly
connected. Replace the damaged wire.
PROBLEM: the engine stops on the slopes
1. Mow in a top-down movement. Never mow down the slope.
2. In order to activate the seat sensor, always sit in the middle of the
seat.
PROBLEM: the engine does not slow down
1. Replace the spark plug.
2. Clean the air filter.
3. Adjust the carburettor.
4. Adjust the accelerator control.
5. Empty the fuel tank. Clean the fuel hose. Replace the fuel filter.
PROBLEM: power loss due to a too hot engine
1. Clean the grid.
2. Check the oil.
3. Adjust the carburettor.
4. Replace the fuel filter.
PROBLEM: excessive vibration
1. Replacing the blade.
2. Check that the engine locks are not released.
3. Reduce tire pressure.
4. Adjust the carburettor.
5. Check that the belt or pulley are not damaged. Replace damaged parts.
PROBLEM: grass is not properly discharged
1. Stop the engine. Clean the mower frame.
2. Raise the cutting height.
3. Replace or sharpen the blade(s).
4. Change to a slower speed.
5. Place the accelerator control to the FAST position.
6. Replace the blade tensioner spring.
PROBLEM: the mower frame does not cut in levelled mode
1. Check the tire pressure
2. Adjust the level of the mower frame.
3. Check the front axle. If the latter does not rotate correctly, release the
corresponding nuts.
PROBLEM: the blades do not rotate
1. Check the mower's drive belt. Make sure it is properly installed.
2. Replace the mower's power belt.
PROBLEM: the unit does not move while it is engaged
1. Check the drive belt. Make sure it is properly installed.
2. Adjust the clutch.
3. Replace the drive belt.
PROBLEM: the unit moves more slowly or stops while engaged
1. Adjust the clutch.
2. Replace the drive belt.
PROBLEM: when the clutch/brake pedal is released, the belt chafes
1. Temporary friction does not affect the unit's operation. If the friction is
continuous, check the belt routing. Make sure that the belt is inserted
into the guide arms.
2. If the friction is continuous, adjust the clutch.
PROBLEM: rear wheels slip on non-regular terrain
1. Check the front axle. If the front axle does not rotate correctly, release
the corresponding nuts.
PROBLEM: the transmission responds with difficulty when changing
gears while the engine is running, and the clutch is released
1. Check the clutch adjustment to ensure that the belt stops when the
clutch is released, and the transmission is in the NEUTRAL (N)
position.
2. Check the guide arms around the drive pulley of the transmission. Make
sure that the guide arms do not come into contact with the pulley.
