Editing a circular profile
A circular profile may be quickly defined using this option. The softkey menu may be used to define
the data in either Cartesian or Polar coordinates and either in absolute or incremental coordinates.
The type of coordinates at the beginning of the editing operation will be in Cartesian and absolute.
• The first and center points of a circular profile may be edited both in Cartesian and Polar
coordinates, but the same type of coordinates must be used for both points. Changing from
Cartesian coordinates to Polar coordinates or vice versa affects both points. When programmed
in Polar coordinates, the Polar origin will be the same for both points.
• The starting point of the circle may only be edited in absolute coordinates, whereas the center
may be edited both in absolute and incremental coordinates.
If the starting point is not defined, the CNC assumes one.
The "Profile Direction" softkey indicates whether the profile is programmed clockwise or
counterclockwise. This data is very important for later modifications and profile intersection. Every
time this softkey is pressed, the text at the top of the middle right window changes.
Editing a rectangular profile
A rectangular profile may be quickly defined using this option. The softkey menu may be used to
define the data in either Cartesian or Polar coordinates. The type of coordinates at the beginning
of the editing operation will be in Cartesian and absolute.
• The starting point of the rectangle may be edited both in Cartesian and Polar coordinates, but
always in absolute coordinates.
The "Profile Direction" softkey indicates whether the profile is programmed clockwise or
counterclockwise. This data is very important for later modifications and profile intersection. Every
time this softkey is pressed, the text at the top of the middle right window changes.
A straight angular profile is defined with a single command, but the CNC internally breaks into 4
straight segments.
Editing any profile
A profile with straight and arc sections may be defined with this option. For any element of the profile,
the softkey menu may be used to define the data in either Cartesian or Polar coordinates and either
in absolute or incremental coordinates.
When pressing the "PROFILE" softkey, the CNC requests the starting point of the profile. To define
it, use the corresponding softkeys. The starting point of a profile may be edited both in Cartesian
and Polar coordinates, but always in absolute coordinates. The type of coordinates at the beginning
of the editing operation will be in Cartesian and absolute.
For example, if when working in the ZX plane the new desired starting point is (Z50, X20):
[X] 20 [ENTER]
[Z] 50 [ENTER]
Once the starting point has been set, press the "VALIDATE" softkey. The graphic area will show a
filled circle to indicate the profile's starting point.
