ExtremeWare 7.5 Command Reference Guide
1175
configure debug-trace pim-message
configure debug-trace pim-message <debug level> vlan <vlan name>
Description
This command records debug information to the syslog.
NOTE
This command is available only on the “i” series switches.
Syntax Description
Default
The default level is 0.
Usage Guidelines
The
debug level
range is 0 to 5. Higher levels record more verbose messages. Higher levels also record
the messages recorded at lower levels.
This command traces all PIM system messages (join, prune, graft, graft acknowledgement, assert, and
BSRM) coming into a VLAN. Use this command if a multicast stream cannot be stopped or does not
come down to the receiver after the IGMP snooping entry is verified, or if the CPU load is unexpectedly
high.
Example
The following command sets the reporting level for PIM message errors to 3:
configure debug-trace pim-message 3
Following is the log output at this level:
<INFO:SYST> msm-a-console admin: configure debug-trace pim-message 3 vlan all
