save configuration
save configuration {primary | secondary} [slot <slot-id-list> |all ]
Description
Saves the run-time configuration of the specified devices to an area in non-volatile memory.
Syntax Description
Default
Saves the current configuration to the location used on the last reboot. If the switch is a member of a
stack, the default is
all
.
Usage Guidelines
Use this command to save the run time configuration of the specified switch to non-volatile memory.
Because of differences in the CPU, the Summit 200 series switches take longer than other Extreme
switches to save configuration data.
Stacked Switches Only.
In a stacked configuration, you can save the configuration of the members,
the stack manager only, or of all the members and the stack manager. The configuration takes effect on
the next reboot.
Example
The following command saves the current switch configuration in the secondary configuration area:
save configuration secondary
This command saves the run-time configuration of an entire stack in the primary configuration area:
save configuration primary all
The following command saves the current switch configuration in the primary configuration area of a
manager on a stack of switches:
save configuration primary
This command saves the current switch configuration in the primary configuration area for a stack
member:
primary Specifies the primary saved configuration of a switch. If this switch is a stack,
it is the configuration of the current slot.
secondary Specifies the secondary saved configuration.
slot-id-list Stack-enabled switches only
Specifies to save the run time configuration of one or more switches in a
stack. The slot ID is the number of the switch in the stack.
all Stack-enabled switches only
Specifies to save all configurations (stack manager and all stack members).
