Repeat steps 4 through 6 for the other side of the switch.

Insert the switch into the rack, and ensure that ventilation holes are not obstructed.
If you are installing a Summit7i switch, you need a minimum of two people to help lift and place the
switch on the helper bracket, and slowly guide the switch into the rack.

While holding the switch, secure it with suitable screws (not provided).
If you are installing a Summit7i switch, remove the helper bracket after you secure the chassis.

Connect the Summit switch to a redundant power supply (if applicable).

To turn on power to a Summit 200 series switch, a Summit 400 series switch, a Summit 300-24
switch, or an “
i
” series Summit switch, connect the AC power cable(s) to the switch and then to the
wall outlet(s).
To turn on power to a Summit 300-48 switch, connect all power cables between the switch and the
AC power source. Then turn all power switches to the ON position.
NOTE
Only the Summit 300-48 switches have on/off switches.
