The ERTune™ Program: Basic Features
To set the Proportional Term
1. Toggle the setpoint.
2. Note rise time, stability and settling time of the ER5000.
The response of the ER5000 should mirror the setpoint step
change as closely as possible.

Response is stable, but rise time and settling time are slow. Increasing Proportional
will speed up response time.
3. Move the Proportional slider to the right or enter a higher
number in the field next to the slider. Refer to
Proportional
Tuning Tips
.
4. Continue to toggle the setpoint. Note the change in the
response of the ER5000.
5. Continue to move the Proportional slider right until you
begin to see excessive overshoot/ringing or until there is no
appreciable improvement in rise time.

Response is faster, but overshoot and ringing are at unacceptable levels.
