1. Engine Oil Level - Visual Check
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to do the check of the engine oil level.
(2) The engine has two oil sight glasses (inboard and outboard). One is
installed on the external side of the AGB and the other is installed on the
external side of the oil tank.
B. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE
CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE WILL BE NO ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION OF THE ENGINES. AN ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION OF THE ENGINES CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS.
(1) Wait for a minimum of ten minutes to elapse after engine shutdown before.
NOTE : If the engine oil system is empty following a draining operation
or if the engine has been newly installed after an overhaul, fill
the engine oil tank before checking the engine oil level (GHSH
TASK 12-12-00-612-801-A/300).
(2) Put the workstand in the work area.
(3) Open the oil service door (Figure 301).
C. Engine - Oil Level Check
WARNING: OBEY ALL POWERPLANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. IF
YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL DURING THE POWERPLANT
MAINTENANCE,
INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING: DO NOT LET JET FUEL AND LUBRICATING OILS TOUCH
YOU. THESE FLUIDS CAUSE INJURY TO THE SKIN.
(1) Do a check of the engine oil level through the oil level sight glass visible in
the engine oil service door. The oil level sight glass checked must be the
one located on the external side.
(2) If the engine oil level is not visible in the visual oil level sight glass, check
the engine for external oil leaks and do repairs as necessary. If no evi-
dence of an external oil leak is found, please use the contact information
given in the GHSH Introduction for the applicable maintenance action.
(3) If the engine oil level is between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks, no further
