1. Normal Parking - Maintenance Practices
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to do the aircraft normal parking.
(2) Normal parking includes overnight parking and parking from 0 to 7 days.
B. Job Set-Up
(1) Make sure that there is sufficient room in the aircraft parking area, to per-
mit its movement.
NOTE
: We recommend that the aircraft be sheltered in the hangar.
(2) Tow the aircraft into the position specified for parking (GHSH TASK 09-10-
01-500-801-A/200).
NOTE
: • If possible, park the aircraft headed into the wind.
• Before you park the aircraft, move it in straight line for
approximately 3 meters. This will remove all torsional
stresses applied to the landing gear components and tires
during a turn.
(3) Make sure that the flaps are in neutral position.
(4) Release the emergency/parking brake.
(5) Make sure that the LG safety pins are installed.
C. Normal Parking - Maintenance Practices
(1) Put the wheel chocks against the LG wheels.
(2) If the aircraft will stay parked outside the hangar, do as follows:
CAUTION
: IF UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS SUCH AS
THUNDERSTORMS AND STRONG WINDS ARE FORE-
CAST, MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS PROPERLY
AND SAFELY PARKED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRE-
CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION
: THE AIRCRAFT MUST BE SHELTERED IN THE HANGAR
WHEN THERE ARE WIND VELOCITIES OF 55 KNOTS
OR MORE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION,
DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Look for the wind velocity chart best suitable for the floor condition in
Figure 203, and, if the wind velocity is out of the limits, refer to AMM
TASK 10-20-00-500-801-A/200 to moor the aircraft.
NOTE
:Perform frequent visual inspections of the mooring ropes
and wheel chocks.
(b) Install the cockpit transparency shade set (GSE 029).
