1. Main Battery - Installation
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to install the main batteries.
(2) There are 2 batteries. Battery 1 is installed in the RH (Right Hand) forward
compartment, and battery 2 is installed in a non-controlled environment
compartment in the RH (Right Hand) wing-to-fuselage aft fairing.
B. Job Set-Up
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as it was at the end
of the removal task (GHSH TASK 24-36-01-000-801-A/400).
C. Main Battery - Installation
(1) Install the battery 1 as follows: (Refer to figure 402)
(a) Carefully put the battery 1 in its installation position.
(b) Put the clamp to the air-escape hose.
(c) Install the air-escape hose to battery 1 outlet.
NOTE
: • Before the installation of the air-escape hose, make sure
that its interior and outlets are dry and clear of unwanted
material.
• Make sure that there are no kinks in the air-escape hose
that can prevent airflow.
(d) Tighten the hose clamp.
(e) Remove the protective cap from the electrical connector and from the
connector of the battery 1.
(f) Connect the electrical connector to the battery 1.
(g) Safety the electrical connector with lock wire.
(2) Install the battery 2 as follows: (Refer to figure 403)
(a) Carefully put the battery 2 in its installation position.
(b) Tighten the self-locking retainers.
(c) Remove the protective cap from the electrical connector and from the
connector of the battery 1.
(d) Connect the electrical connector to the battery 1.
(e) Safety the electrical connector with lock wire.
D. Job Close-Up
(1) Remove all tools, equipment and unwanted materials from the work area.
(2) For battery 1:
(a) Install the access panel 212CZ.
(b) Close the forward baggage-compartment door.
(3) For battery 2, close the access door 195FR.
