CAUTION: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT PLATED SURFACE CON-
TACTED BY MOISTURE (ESPECIALLY WATER, TOMATO
AND ORANGE JUICE, CARBONATED SOFT DRINKS, AND
ALCOHOL) BE WIPED IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH
FLIGHT.
CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT WATER TO DRY ON THE PARTS. THE
MINERAL CONTENT IN SOME WATER WILL LEAVE
DEPOSITS THAT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU SOAK THE CLOTH, DO NOT PUT IT OVER
THE SOLVENT CONTAINER MOUTH AND TURN THE CON-
TAINER. THIS CAN CAUSE CONTAMMINATION OF THE
SOLVENT SOURCE. ALWAYS POUR THE SOLVENT ONTO
THE CLOTH OR USE A DISPENSER CAN DESIGNED TO
ISOLATE CONTAMINANTS.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET SOLVENTS TOUCH THE DECOR MATERIAL
OR PLASTIC COMPONENTS. MEK AND ACETONE CAN
CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME COMPONENTS AND MATE-
RIALS.
(2) Use of solvents:
NOTE: • We recommend that you apply a corrosion inhibitor to metal
surfaces independently of the cleaning material that you use.
Metal surfaces are normally treated or anodized to prevent
corrosion. Normal wear, and abnormal abuse cause corro-
sion, and it is always a factor that you must consider.
• Do not scour or abrade surfaces. Corrosion protection is nor-
mally a thin layer of anodizing or organic agent. Abrasion can
remove the protective film or coating.
• Do not permit solvent to evaporate on the surface.
• Do not use cloth a second time because this can redeposit
contaminants on the surface.
• Keep the platings away from the sun. Long exposures dis-
color the finish.
• You must clean the platings every two weeks.
• Avoid spills on the finished surface. If it occurs clean imme-
diately.
(a) Dampen a clean dry cotton cloth with Windex. Pour it on the cloth.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE HARSH OR AMMONIATED CLEANING
AGENTS ON A FINISH WHICH WAS SEALED BY A
