1. Aircraft De-energization - Aircraft/System Configuration
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to remove the electrical power from the air-
craft supplied by an external DC (Direct Current) power supply.
(2) The 28 V DC (Volt Direct Current), external power supply is connected to
the aircraft through the receptacle installed on the left side of the rear fuse-
lage.
B. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE
CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as it was at the end
of the energization task (GHSH TASK 24-41-00-860-801-A/200).
C. Aircraft De-energization - Maintenance Practices
(1) Do these procedures to de-energize the aircraft:
(a) On the ELECTRICAL control panel, set the BATT 1 and BATT 2
switches to OFF.
(b) On the ELECTRICAL control panel, set the GPU pushbutton to the
latched-out (off) position.
Result:
1. The IN USE lamp in the GPU pushbutton goes off.
2. The AVAIL lamp in the GPU pushbutton comes on.
(c) Set the GPU (GSE 016) to OFF. Refer to the GSE Appendix.
Result:
1. On the ELECTRICAL control panel, the AVAIL lamp in the GPU
pushbutton goes off.
WARNING: REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE
EXTERNAL POWER CABLE BEFORE YOU REMOVE
IT FROM THE AIRCRAFT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
PRECAUTION, AN ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN OCCUR
AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(d) Disconnect the GPU (Ground Power Unit) (GSE 016) from the external
DC power receptacle. Refer to the GSE Appendix.
D. Job Close-Up
(1) Close access door 195CL.
(2) If applicable, remove the circuit breaker ring and tag from these circuit
breakers and close them:
