To select the comms port
- Select the comms port (1 - 16) then
double click on the type of communications from the dropdown
list.
Auto Detect -
This automatically detects the hardware available
on a selected port and assigns it to the port.
Disable DTR
Various probes can be used to communicate with meters via the optical 'FLAG' communications port.
These probes are one of two basic types:
Probe with DTR disabled
Probe with DTR enabled
It is important to choose the correct probe for your installation, as optical communications will not be
available if the wrong probe is selected.
Modem Init -
If a modem is selected on a port, Modem Initialisation allows the initialisation string to
be set. The modem type (tone or pulsed dialling) must first be selected.
To set the string
, select Modem, select the type of dialling then type the string in the box provided
and press Save
File Location -
To modify a file path, press Modify and edit the file path accordingly.
Use number of retries to set the number of times the computer tries to connect.
Result (.RES) File Management -
This option allows the user to Append new data to a .RES file or
Always overwrite the .RES file with new data.
If Append new data is selected, any new data is added to the .RES file. This option is used if the .RES
files are to be used outside the Power Master Unit.
Note – If this option is used, old readings are stored in the database and new readings are appended.
Always overwrite with new data is the option normally used. This overwrites any old data with the new
data.
