Description
XDUO 2500 Mixer is a system for mixing operations with minimized risk of cross-contam-
ination. XDUO 2500 Mixer consists of the following subsystems:

Mixer vessel
•
Temperature control unit (TCU) (optional)
The mixer vessel can be non-jacketed or jacketed. The jacketed vessel allows temperature
monitoring and control. An external temperature control unit is necessary for jacket
temperature control.
The control of the mixing process can be performed locally or remotely. The remote
control is managed using a free-standing control unit called M-Station OIT, which is the
connected to FlexFactory control system.
XDUO 2500 Mixer does not have a UPS power backup.
Operating principle
A sterile single-use bag is installed in the vessel and the mixing process is performed
inside the disposable bag. The liquid ingredients are introduced through sterile integral
fittings. The solid ingredients are added through a port at the top of the disposable bag
using a hopper or a powder bag.
Mixing of the disposable bag contents is performed by two built-in impellers. Each impeller
is magnetically coupled to an agitator drive head. The agitation is provided by a servo
drive and a motor.
The mixing process is monitored using probes that are inserted into the disposable bag
through sterile connections.
The finished product is collected through drain tubing at the bottom of the disposable
bag.
