6.2.7. Leakage
Leakage sensor contains reference and measuring sensor. If measuring sensor is immersed
in liquid, sensor generates a signal. Processing of this signal depends on actual setting. The pump
also processes the leakage sensor from connected box. Behavior setting is then common for both
sensors, but descriptions of warnings and errors are different.
If a leakage occurs, at first it is necessary to eliminate the leakage, then dry up the area of
liquid drain and especially the measuring sensor. After drying the sensor, it is necessary to wait at
least 1 min, then the icon and warning on main screen turns off. Error will be removed after pump
restart.

6.3. Control
In submenu can be set possibilities of pulsation compensation learning function,
initialization/stop/reinitialization of program, setting of gradient program and gradient valves
closing.
6.3.1. Start Compensation Learning
By entering this menu item, a pulsation compensation learning process starts. Before
initiation of pulsation compensation learning, pump
connects to column and starts pumping.
It
is ideal
to carry out the learning process under working conditions, including used tubing, column
etc. Learning process is trying to find optimal curve of pump rotation speed, so that pulsation
meets condition set in item
Menu/Preferences/Compensation/Pressure pulsation limit
, at least for
three consecutive revolutions. Learning process runs under constant flowrate (minimal flowrate is
0.06 ml/min). Learning process is shown by an icon on main screen (see
) and also a warning
with description, that learning is in process. If it is not possible to complete the process under
10 min., another warning is displayed, that learning process has not been completed in desired
time limit. Learning process can be stopped by pressing key
PUMP
, which stops pumping, or using
first item in
Menu/Control
/
, that changes to
Stop compens.learning
. In this case pumping does
not stop. After confirmation by pressing ENTER
Stop compens.learning
is displayed a question,
whether to save the best result. If the learning process is interrupted, it returns to last learned
compensation value. Under standard conditions the pump usually learns compensation within
5 min.
In menu item
Menu/Diagnostics/Puls
is displayed pulsation status and information about
values of parameters, under which compensation learning took place (see
). After setting
different flowrate, then flowrate used during learning process, with difference higher than
±
1.66 ml/min (1/6 from maximal flowrate), pulsation compensation turns off. The unit displays a
warning and a symbol is changed on main screen (see

When changing a column or mobile phase, we recommend to proceed the
pulsation compensation learning process again.
