3.4 Sample Pipettor Arm
3.4.1 Overview
The sample pipettor (Figure 3-4) arm performs the following operations:

Gets a new sample tip from the sample tip rack

Ejects used sample tips into tip waste container evenly

Transfers sample fluid from sample tube to the microplate wells and/or dilution strips

Transfers dilution fluid from the dilution strips to microplate wells

Transfers controls or standard fluids from reagent packs to microplate wells or dilution
strips

Mixes fluid within a dilution strip

The sample pipettor is capable of dispensing between 10 µL and 300 µL in single shot mode
with an accuracy of < 2% of target volume in its operating range (single shot) based on using
a new tip and a pipetting precision of < 3% CV at 10 shots at any volume in operating range
based on single shot with a new tip (both specifications based on using de-ionized water)
