4.7.3 Load SmartKits
SmartKits are loaded into a SmartKit holder and loaded through the rack loading bays on the
front doors, barcode end first. The SmartKit holder is keyed to only fit into loading position
the correct way.
The indicator lights adjacent to the loading positions indicate the following:

White Light - SmartKit can be loaded as the position is empty.

Orange Light – SmartKit Detected. A SmartKit has been loaded, awaiting barcode read to
determine SmartKit Item.

Red light – Error on SmartKit Load, Barcode not read or no matching Assay loaded.

Blue Light – SmartKit Position busy, either the SmartKit has been recognised and is in
use or empty position is busy awaiting SmartKit placement by instrument. It may also
have been designated to be the bay to be used for the return of used SmartKits or Reagent
packs.

Flashing Blue Light – SmartKit can be removed. The SmartKit is no longer required and
is in Eject position half way out for user to remove from system. But do not remove the
