9 Setting the feed-dog
The position and the movement of the feed-dog and needle bar have to be
coordinated such that the needle pierces exactly in the center of the nee-
dle hole of the feed-dog.
Sequence
First check the following settings:
• Needle bar linkage

9.1 Setting the feed-dog position
Correct setting
The feed-dog is exactly in the center of the throat plate cut-out, both side-
ways and in the sewing direction.
If the stitch length is 0, the needle pierces exactly in the center of the nee-
dle hole.
Various settings have to be made depending on how far the actual posi-
tion of the feed-dog differs from the correct setting:
• For minimal deviations, it suffices to move the feed-dog on the carrier.

• If this change does not suffice, then the whole feed-dog carrier has to
be moved on the sliding shaft.

• For basic realignment, the feed-dog carrier has to be realigned
together with the stitch regulator gear.

Risk of injury
Switch off the sewing machine before setting the feed-dog
position.
