Each device has a set of switches or jumpers that can be set for a specific ID.
The optional hard disk drives and additional RRD42 compact disc drives are
mounted in expansion boxes that have external switches.
The built-in RZ hard disk drive and the RRD42 compact disc drive have
internal switches or jumpers. You cannot change settings on these devices.
A.2 Determining SCSI ID Numbers
To determine SCSI ID numbers, enter the TEST 50 command at the console
prompt
(>>>)
, then press Return. The test displays your system configuration
on the screen. FFFFFF05 identifies an open ID. See Table 3–1 for a complete
list of the device status codes and their meaning.
In the following example, the system contains a controller, one RZ23L internal
hard disk, 1 internal RRD 42 compact disc drive, and 2 RRD42 compact disc
drive expansion boxes. There are two open ID numbers.
