5 Programming the system
TOD 0C1
In the CctM field, a three-digit SASP number will be shown (e.g. 055A = SASP number
55A). Memorize the respective number and then start TOD 0C1:
After this command is executed, the contents of the interface memory will be displayed in
hexadecimal mode. The whole interface memory has a length of 40 bytes (i.e. 80 hexadeci-
mal digits). The 35th byte (counting from 0 on) is the propagation time value determined by
the measurement:
In the example shown above, no measurement has been carried out as yet, so Byte 35 has
the hexadecimal value FF. After the measurement has been carried out, byte 35 will change
to a value between 00 and FE. This value (decoded to a decimal) multiplied by 100 ns will
give you the propagation time of the respective base station.
E.g. if byte 35 is 0F, the decimal equivalent is 15
15 x 100 ns = 1500 ns.
The cable length can then be calculated using the formula l = t x 200 000 000 m/s:
l = 1500 ns x 200 000 000 m/s = 300 m
