4 Cable signal propagation time measurement
Step 2: Read out the measured values
The measured value can be read out using the Comfort SPC menu „Hardware nachträglich“
(Subseq. hardware configuration):
Please note the special RSIa allocation to the contacts of the plug-in terminal blocks if the
UPDTS module is used (refer to service manual chapter 4.3, UPDTS

).
If you replace (one or two) UP0TS modules by a UPDTS module, you should, to be on the
safe side, repeat the propagation time measurement; this ensures that the measured values
are correctly allocated to the interfaces by the software.
Step 3: Compare theoretical values to the measured values
The following table shows theoretical values of loop resistances of specific cable lengths for
a cable with 0.6 mm wire diameter. From the loop resistance measured in step 1, determine
the corresponding cable length from the table below and compare this to the results read out
with the SPC in step 2
