AUDIO SYSTEM* (RADIO, CASSETTE AND CD PLAYER) 5–5
RADIO OPERATION
1. Rotate the power/volume control knob
clockwise. Then the radio is turned on.
If a tape is already loaded in the tape
slot when the audio system is turned on,
the cassette mode is turned on. To turn
on the radio, eject the tape.
2. Press the band selection button(5) to se-
lect the desired band.
Band changes as follows ;
→
FM1
→
FM2
→
AM
3. Tune in the desired station using tuning
up/down buttons or preset buttons.
4. To turn the radio on while the cassette
is operating, eject the tape. The radio is
automatically turned on.
5. To turn off the audio system, rotate the
power/volume control knob counter-
clockwise until the click sound is heard.
How to Tune in the Desired Station
Manual Tuning :
Press the tuning up (
) or down (
) but-
ton (6) for less than 0.5 second to increase
or decrease the frequency. The frequency
of AM band changes 9kHz (or 5kHz or
10kHz) each time and that of FM band
changes 50kHz (or 100kHz or 200kHz) each
time.
Seek Tuning :
Press the tuning up or down button for more
than 0.5 second. Next receivable higher or
lower station will be automatically searched
for.
Using Preset Buttons :
To select the desired preset station stored
on the preset buttons, press the correspond-
ing preset button for less than 1.5 seconds.
How to Preset the Station
6 stations on each band (FM1, FM2 and AM)
can be stored into the 6 preset buttons.
1. Select the desired band using the band
selection button (5).
2. Tune in the desired station using tuning
up/down button (6).
3. Press one of 6 preset buttons for more
than 1.5 seconds.
The preset button number will be dis-
played on the L.C.D., then the station will
be stored in the memory.
4. By the same method, you can store the
desired stations into the 6 preset but-
tons.
NOTE
Audio system can be operated when
the ignition key is at "ACC" or "ON"
position.
