IGNITION SWITCH
The ignition switch on the right side of the
steering column has the following four po-
sitions, LOCK, ACC, ON, and START.
LOCK
The steering is locked by removing the key.
Rotate the steering wheel until lock is en-
gaged.
For easier key operation when unlocking,
move the steering gently from right to left and
turn the key to the "ACC" position.
START
This position activates the starter motor,
starting the engine.
Release the key when the engine starts, and
it will be returned to the "ON" position auto-
matically.
ACC
The engine can be turned off without lock-
ing the steering wheel.
But some electrical accessories such as ra-
dio and cigarette lighter can be operated in
this position.
NOTE
To turn the key from "ACC" to
"LOCK" position, you must push it in.
WARNING
Never remove or turn key off while
driving.
• This can cause the driver to lose
control of vehicle.
• This can result in serious vehicle
damage or personal injury.
WARNING
Steering wheel can suddenly turn.
Never reach for ignition switch key
through the steering wheel.
