Multicast Filtering Mode
This window is used to configure the Multicast Filtering settings on the switch. It allows users to configure the switch to
forward or filter the Unregistered Groups per VLAN. Use the Find function to display the existing Multicast Filter
configuration.
To view this window, click
L2 Features > Multicast Filtering > Multicast Filtering Mode

as shown below:

The following fields can be set:
Parameter Description
VLAN Name /
VID List
(to configure filter)
Choose how the Multicast Filter is to be applied, using a single VLAN Name or a VID List. Type
the name or VID list in the field below the option buttons. Alternatively, apply the filter to all
Multicast VLANs by ticking the All check box. Click the
Apply
button to apply the filter settings.
Multicast Filtering
Mode
This drop-down menu instructs the Switch what action to take when it receives a multicast
packet that requires forwarding to a port.
Forward All Groups
– This will instruct the Switch to forward all multicast packets regardless of
whether or not the destination is an unregistered multicast group residing within the range of
ports specified above.
Forward Unregistered Groups
– This will instruct the Switch to forward a multicast packet
whose destination is an unregistered multicast group residing within the range of ports
specified above.
Filter Unregistered Groups
– This will instruct the Switch to filter any multicast packets whose
destination is an unregistered multicast group residing within the range of ports specified
above.

To display Multicast Filtering configuration settings for VLANs on the Switch, choose the VLAN
Name or VID List option, type the name of a VLAN or a VID List and click on the
Find
button.
