ETRIEVING
OID
OF THE DEVICE
To identify non D-Link devices, the administrators must first retrieve the OID
of the device and then customize them to add to D-View.
Ensure the device is online to retrieve the OID of the device.
To retrieve the OID of the device:
1.
Go to
NetTools
>
MIB Tools
>
MIB Compiler
. The
MIB Compiler
screen displays.

Enter the device IP address.
3.
Set the
SNMP Configuration
. Refer to
Setting Up SNMP Configuration to
Retrieve Device Information
from devices.
4.
Compile the
RFC1213
MIB File and select
sysObjectID
from the MIB tree.
5.
Right-click
sysObjectID
and select
Info
. The
Browser Result
screen
displays.
6.
Make a note of the OID value of the device.
OR
1.
For a non-designated device module, D-View will identify the device as
GenSNMPDevice
type.
2.
Double-click on the device. The graphical interface of the device displays.
3.
Go to
Device Info
and then select
System Info
. The
System
InfoGenSNMPDevice Module
screen displays.
