Air Cylinders
The machine has a number of air cylinders
(Figure 5-13), which are use compressed air to
create a mechanical movement.
Flow Controls
Flow controls (Figure 5-14) work similar to
regulators or the check valves used on many air
cylinders. They control the pressure and rate of
air flow to a device or air outlet.

Air Bars
The air bars (Figure 5-14) use compressed air
to help create a smooth laydown of pieces onto
the discharge conveyor.
Pneumatic Clutch/Brake
A pneumatically-controlled clutch/brake
(Figure 5-15) is used to control positioning of
the flatwork so that it can be properly grabbed
by the transfer clamps.
