PWM
Determines source of the
controlling speed signal.
0 = Input - Feeder follows ironer speed (Auto).
1 = PWM - Feeder sets own speed (manual).
2 = Not used
0
* Only active when PWM=0. These parameters adjust the feeder speed automatically according to the ironer’s speed
signal or encoder.
Ironer Speed Interlock Adjustments
(IRN)
All of these settings deal with how the
spreader/feeder interacts with other machines in
the line from the viewpoint of speed control.
Settings include:
The unit’s minimum and maximum
speeds.
The distance traveled by the flatwork
between each ironer encoder pulse.
The feeder speed relative to the ironer.
Which machine in the line controls the
overall speed of the line.
When IRN is selected from the SELECT
ADJUSTMENT menu, the following displays:
IRON 028-152FPM 0.26IPP
FEEDER 90PERCENT PWM=0

IRON is actually two settings. The first number
set (3 digits after the word IRON), controls
the minimum speed at which the feeder can
operate.
The second set of IRON digits controls
the maximum speed at which the feeder can
operate. Combined together they set the min/max
operating range of the unit in feet per minute.
Also, notice that PWM has 3 possible settings.
Setting 0 allows the unit to operate in AUTO
mode with its speed controlled by the Chicago
®
ironer behind it.
Setting 1 allows the unit to operate in manual,
controlling its own speed. Setting 2 is no longer
used.
Refer to the table below for more information
about each available function to use as a guide
in making adjustments.
