Appending Dust Delete Data
N
Normally, the Self Cleaning Sensor Unit will eliminate most of the dust
that may be visible on captured images. However, for the case where
visible dust still remains, you can append the Dust Delete Data to the
image for erasing the dust spots later. The Dust Delete Data is used
by Digital Photo Professional (EOS software) to erase the dust spots
automatically.
Preparation
z
Use an RF or EF lens.
z
Prepare a solid white object such as a sheet of paper.
z
Set the lens focal length to 50 mm or longer.
z
Set the lens’s focus mode switch to <
MF
> and set the focus to
infinity (∞). If the lens has no distance scale, rotate the camera to
face toward you and turn the focusing ring clockwise all the way.
Obtaining the Dust Delete Data
1
Select [
z
5: Dust Delete Data].
2
Select [OK].
g
After the automatic self-cleaning of
the sensor is performed, a message
will appear. Although there will be
a mechanical sound of the shutter
during the cleaning, no picture is
taken.
