12. Plug the Direct Connection Leads (red and black) into
the socket on the Signal Generator and check the Connected
Mode icon is displayed at the top of the display. Attach a
crocodile clip to each terminal on the Function Checker.
CORRECT RESULT
: The audio response should
change to a lower pitch as the second crocodile
clip is attached to the second terminal.
The Signal Generator bar graph should indicate
a full scale response. The Function Checker bar
graph should show an indication of 5/10 full
scale (for the black SGV) or 8/10 full scale (for
the grey 1 Watt SGV) and the ‘33kHz’ icon should
show in the top left hand corner on the Function
Checker display.
NOTE
If the CORRECT RESULT is not achieved, the cause may be a set of faulty Direct Connection Leads.
Replace with good leads and try the test again.
13. Detach the black Connection Lead from the Function
Checker terminal (leaving the red Connection Lead attached)
and confirm that the pitch of the audio rises.
