DEPTH CHECKING - XD only
Carry out a ‘SONDE’ depth measurement by pressing the depth button
twice and holding on the second press.
CORRECT RESULT
: The word ‘SONDE’ will flash on the display
and a depth of between 0.85m and 1.20m will be indicated.
NOTE
It is essential that the depth button is pressed twice in quick succession to select ‘SONDE’ depth measurement
(indicated by the word ‘SONDE’ appearing on the screen) and not a ‘Line’ depth measurement as this will give an
incorrect reading.
NOTE
The XD displays depths to the nearest 0.15m in Sonde Mode and so the indicated depth may vary by 0.15m
depending on how close it is to indicating the next depth level.
If all of the ‘Condition Checks’ (pages 9-10) and ‘Performance Checks’ (pages 14-19) have been completed successfully
then the Locator is operating correctly in all three modes.
