NOTE
In order to carry out Performance Checks using the Function Checker, it is necessary to be familiar
with the correct operation of the Signal Generator that is to be tested.
NOTE
Only use the Function Checker in an area that has been scanned and found to be suitable for use,
as described in the ‘Selecting a suitable location’ section on page 8.
These tests should NOT be carried out in the close vicinity of any active Signal Generators, Transmitters or Sondes.
1. Place the Function Checker on the ground with the Accessory Tray securely clipped
to the underside of the Function Checker.
2. Switch ON the Function Checker. Check the Battery Condition Indicator in the bottom
left hand corner of the Function Checker display. If there is only one segment or no segments
of the indicator filled in then the batteries must be replaced before the Function Checker
can be used.
3. Position the Signal Generator ‘head to head’ with the Function Checker as shown
making sure that nothing is plugged in to the Direct Connection Socket of the Signal Generator.
