5.1.1.4. Note: Serial Number
This Serial Number attribute differs from the S-Device Supervisor Serial
Number attribute whereby the Identity Object attribute is strictly a numeric
value that is guaranteed to be unique by the manufacturer across all of the
manufacturer’s DeviceNet products. The S-Device Supervisor attribute Serial
Number is a string value that should represent the manufacturers method of
defining serial numbers for its products.
