When you use the Find section with its default Options settings, the Find Now
and Find Similar buttons are grayed out. Instead, type in a specific word or set of
words into field 1 for the ServLINK to look for; as you type, the help system will
automatically display (a) a longer word or phrase that can narrow the search (in
field 2), and (b) the titles of any topics that match what you’ve typed in so far (in
field 3). Click the title of any topic in field 3 you want to see and then click
“Display.”
If you find this kind of on-the-fly searching disconcerting or annoying, and
would rather the help system wait until you finish typing something in to suggest
topics, click Options. A dialog box will appear that allows you to turn on Find Now
and Find Similar (click to search
after you finish your entry), as well as to set search
sensitivity and other options.
The lists that appear in fields 2 and 3 are the result of database operations that
can occasionally become corrupted. If you see nonsense or garbage characters in
these fields, click Rebuild to reinitialize the process and regenerate the lists.
