Short Cut button, Short Cut Key Options field
If you want to assign a shortcut key to a macro—see
Short Cut Key(s)
on the
previous page—or to clear a shortcut-key assignment, highlight that macro and
click the
Short Cut
button. If the macro currently has any shortcut key(s)
assigned to it, those will appear in the
Short Cut Key Options
field; otherwise,
the word “None” will appear in that field. Clicking the down-arrow button to
the right of the
Short Cut Key Options
field will cause a menu of all of the
available shortcut keys to appear below the field; drag the highlight to the
key(s) you want, or to “None” if you want to clear the shortcut assignment (so
that there won’t be any shortcut keys for the macro).
The function keys [F2] through [F11] are the only keyboard keys that can be
used as shortcut keys. ([F1] triggers the on-line help system, while [F12] brings
up this dialog box in Host Mode.) When the ServLINK ships from the factory,
these shortcuts are all already assigned to important Windows keystroke
sequences that can’t be sent to an attached PC directly from your keyboard. If
you find that there are certain other macros you use much more often than
those with preassigned shortcuts, clear the preassigned shortcut keys and
assign them to the macros that need them.
